2022 internship and volunteer opportunities at HIPHI

  • News

HIPHI’s internship and volunteer program aims to train a new generation of sustainable public health workforce in Hawai‘i. HIPHI staff mentor high school and university students and recent graduates to complete projects to build public health experience and skills (community, communications, policy/program development, analytical skills, etc.). We welcome current students and recent graduates to apply. We also welcome those who wish to explore the public health field.

COVID-19 Policies & Procedures Updates for HIPHI Interns and VolunteersAs a public health organization, we believe that our staff, interns, and volunteers are models for health and workplace wellness.  Starting January 1, 2021, all Interns and volunteers who are physically in Hawai‘i must be fully-vaccinated and provide proof (e.g,. CDC vaccination cards). HIPHI also recommends booster shots for those who received the 1-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine. Caption: Our policies and procedures outline actions that HIPHI staff will take to prevent COVID-19 infections and keep our staff, families, partners, and communities healthy and safe. These policies and procedures are based on CDC, local, and state recommendations and regulations, and are subject to change. The graphics show pictures of prevention measures: vaccination, social distancing, work from home, wear a mask, stay at home if you are sick, disinfect. Please note – we do not require proof of vaccination for applicants or those who interview with us (candidates). This policy pertains specifically to HIPHI interns and volunteers, who are working on projects at HIPHI in January 2022 and beyond.HIPHI Internship & Volunteer Process and TimelineCaption: Students and others who are interested in becoming an intern or volunteer should learn more about HIPHI by visiting our website, apply, then selected candidates will interview with one of our staff. Staff will contact candidates for the final decision. If the candidates accept the offer, they will attend orientation to review HIPHI policies and procedures.
