Flavors Hook Kids Hawaiʻi
Take action to ban flavored tobacco products that are hooking our keiki into lifelong addiction.
Thousands of fruit and candy-flavored vaping e-liquids that are addicting our keiki would be off the market in Hawai‘i, including menthol cigarettes, flavored smokeless tobacco, and flavored cigars. Menthol and other flavors are used to mask the harshness of tobacco, making it easy for people to start smoking and become addicted to nicotine. This campaign is working to pass legislation in 2019 to end the sale and distribution of all flavored tobacco and vaping liquids, including menthol.

Bitter Truth Hawai‘i
Fund healthy community-based initiatives and programs with a 2-cent-per ounce fee on soda and other sugary drinks.
Here’s the bitter truth that the beverage industry doesn’t want us to know: the sugar-filled drinks they’re selling are making Hawaiʻi sick. Worse yet, the communities most targeted by beverage industry ads tend to be those that suffer the hardest under the burden of these diseases. It’s time to change the culture of soda to a culture of health for our keiki by passing a 2-cent-per-ounce fee on sugary drinks. A beverage fee is a win-win that will help to curb soda consumption and generate revenue that can be reinvested in communities most impacted by health inequities.
