Bring Your Family and Friends to Kaua‘i’s Rice Street Block Party!
Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, in partnership with the County of Kaua‘i, Rice Street Business Association, and Get Fit Kaua‘i, invite you to the 2023 Rice Street Block Party, a free family-focused event, from 4 to 8 PM on Saturday, October 28. Experience a revitalized Rice Street District and enjoy the Rice Street improvements, which are all a part of the Lihue Town Core Mobility and Revitalization Project. The project was funded through a $13.8 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant that the county received in 2018. Since the completion of the TIGER grant project, connectivity and safer facilities for bikers, pedestrians, and motor vehicles have improved. In addition, it proposed to be a catalyst for the economic revitalization of the Lihue Town Core. A time for celebration indeed!
At the Rice Street Block Party, you’ll experience art, culture, food, shopping, entertainment, and the history of Rice Street.
There will be food trucks, the ever-popular ‘Play Streets’ featuring a mini skatepark, an awesome keiki zone with rides, a climbing wall, and more! Over 75 local vendors will also feature Kaua‘i Made products and artisans.
There will be three main stages throughout Rice Street:
- Keiki stage featuring Taiko Drums, Kapa‘a Middle School Choir, CKMS Choir, and Bandwagon Music Center.
- Main stage featuring Cruz Control, Natural Vibrations, and more.
- Kress Street stage featuring JP and Cory Mira.
Rice Street from the Rice Shopping Center to Hardy and Kalena Streets will be closed from 3 to 9:30 PM. for the block party. Kress Street will also be closed from Rice to Halenani Streets.
Free parking will be available at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall, or take the Kaua‘i Bus for FREE!
