HIPHI seeks to hire 2 (two) experienced community-driven individuals to coordinate coalition and community-building efforts in Maui County to prevent and reduce the harms associated with drugs and alcohol. This position will be stationed on the island of Maui and will report to the Maui Coalition for Drug-Free Youth Director. The position duties include outreach, coordination, and leadership development of the youth and adult volunteers in reaching the coalition’s goals of implementing community-level prevention strategies that reduce drug and alcohol-related harms in the community.

HIPHI seeks to hire a full-time Statewide Coalition Coordinator for the Hawai‘i Alcohol Policy Alliance, a program of HIPHI. This position develops and maintains an active statewide coalition to implement science-supported public health approaches to community-level alcohol prevention. This includes changing systems and policies that impact public health as it relates to state-level alcohol policies that occur at the state legislature.  The position also seeks to ensure all statewide policy campaign efforts are coordinated and communicated well among partners and coalition members.

HIPHI seeks to hire and deploy trained Bilingual Health Aides (BHAs) to work with partnered organizations under the CDC-RFA-DP21-2109: Community Health Workers (CHWs) for COVID Response and Resilient Communities (CCR) project, which seeks to support coronavirus aid, relief, and economic security through training and deployment of CHWs and BHAs to response efforts and by building and strengthening community resilience to fight COVID-19 through addressing existing health disparities across Hawai‘i.

Statewide Youth Coordinator for CTFH

The Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawaii (CTFH), a program of the Hawaii Public Health Institute (HIPHI),  seeks a passionate and driven Statewide Youth Coordinator to mentor a diverse youth council representative of youth from across the state. The Youth Coordinator will focus on recruiting and engaging youth, including priority populations such as but not limited to Native Hawaiians, Filipinos, LGBTQ+, and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds, to advocate for policies aimed at reducing nicotine use and exposure to secondhand smoke at county and state levels. The Youth Coordinator will grow, inspire, and empower youth leaders through peer-to-peer training and advocacy initiatives. The goal is to affect positive change in their communities and contribute to the mission of creating a nicotine-free Hawai‘i.
