The Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawaiʻi is excited to announce our first-ever virtual Stakeholder Meeting and Alakaʻi Awards Ceremony! We encourage you to register by Wednesday, October 14 to ensure you receive a small thank you gift in time for the meeting!
This year’s theme is framing tobacco as a social justice issue. Our featured speaker this year is Rod Lew, MPH, Founder and Executive Director of APPEAL, an organization working towards social justice and tobacco-free Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. In between presentations, we will be recognizing outstanding organizations and individuals with our annual Alakaʻi Awards. Dr. Bryan Mih will speak on the link between tobacco use and COVID-19, followed by breakout groups to explore the intersections between tobacco, COVID-19, and health equity. Closing panelists will discuss how their tobacco prevention and control work advances health equity in Hawaiʻi.
