Webinar – Caregiver Respite through Adult Day Programs

Join us for an informative session on Caregiver Respite through Adult Day Programs, with a focus on supporting those living with memory loss. Presented by industry experts Kathy Wyatt, RN, MSN, MBA, LNHA, Founder & President of Hale Hauʻoli Hawaiʻi, and Stacy Honma, Program Manager at Maluhia Adult Day Health Center, this event aims to provide valuable insights and guidance for caregivers.

  • Understand how adult day programs offer respite for caregivers and services for individuals with memory loss.

  • Explore criteria for participation, including levels of care, scheduling details, and other important considerations.
  • Discover how Adult Day Programs can effectively support persons living with dementia.
  • Learn about the costs involved and explore financial options.


  • Kathy Wyatt: Founder and President of Hale Hauʻoli Hawaiʻi, a non-profit organization established in 2016, whose mission is to promote positive aging through community education programs, adult day care options, and caregiver support groups. She is a registered nurse with Master’s degrees in Nursing and Business Administration, and is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Her experience spans over 25 years working with the elderly in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, as well as adult day care. She is on the Board of Directors of the Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs, the Hawaii Family Caregiver Coalition (President), the Caregiver Foundation (Treasurer), Kokua Council, Past-President of Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society, and President of Adult Day Services Hawaii. She operates Hale Hauʻoli Hawaiʻi adult day care centers in Aiea and Kaneohe, and is founder and Administrator for Hoaloha Nurse Aide Training Program.
  • Stacy Honma: Program Manager for Maluhia Adult Day Health Center. Maluhia ADH, established in 1981, is owned and operated by Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC), the fourth largest public health system in the county and largest provider of healthcare in Hawaii. HHSC is the “Safety Net” for Neighbor Island Acute Care and the “Safety Net” for Long-Term Care in the State of Hawaii. Maluhia ADH serves a diverse population and those with high medical needs that may require nursing services. The day health program is able to care for seniors up to intermediate care level and specializes in working with elders with behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia such as agitation, anxiety, wandering, delusions, and hallucinations. Stacy has served in the senior care field for 20 years as Administrator for The Salvation Army’s Adult Day Health program and other community organizations.
