Hawai‘i Community Health Worker Spring 2023 Updates

WHAT’S NEW IN 2023: HAWAI‘I COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER ASSOCIATION

2022 has brought us great memories as we work diligently to build and establish our Hawai’i Community Health Worker Association (HICHW). We look forward to what 2023 has in store for us, including continuing our monthly Community Health Worker (CHW) Only Meetings, quarterly ally meetings, regional meetings, and more training for CHWs!

This year, we will host our 2023 Regional Meetings between June and July! Our Island Representatives are hard at work scheduling dates and securing venues to gather local CHWs on each island. These meetings will be focused on recapping 2022, more discussion around CHW sustainability pathways, and how to continue growing with us as an association! To receive updates on when our Regional Meetings will take place, subscribe to receive email notifications and if you are a CHW, attend our monthly CHW only meetings. See below for more details on subscribing and participating in our meetings.

LUNCH AND LEARN WITH US!

Our HICHW Workforce Development team will launch monthly Lunch and Learns to assist in the development of the CHW profession.

This specific time slot is allotted for CHWs to receive training and participate in discussions desired by CHWs. To check out our current trainings available and to register, visit hichw.org/training-and-services. Upcoming trainings in 2023 will include tobacco cessation intervention, asthma, and other activities on chronic diseases. In addition, potential topics in the works include expanding discussion on built environment efforts and self-care for CHWs.
