The Hawai‘i Public Health Training Hui (Hui) is happy to announce our transition to Moodle! What’s a Moodle you ask? Moodle is an online learning management system. Our sponsors and partners at the Western Region Public Health Training Center (WRPHTC) use Moodle as their self-paced learning platform. Using this platform will open your world to not only our previous trainings, but also other trainings from WRPHTC partner organizations. Some of the benefits of utilizing Moodle include, access to self-paced trainings outside of our Hui, many with continuing education credits, immediate access to the evaluation following the webinar and your certificate of attendance being distributed as soon as the evaluation is complete. If you would like to learn how to navigate Moodle, you can view the recording of webinar here. All of the Hui’s past webinars can be viewed by visiting the Hui’s YouTube channel.

Given some recent events and movements we’ve seen in our communities, we recognized the importance of offering a training around racism. On September 15th, we were joined by Dr. Rebecca Delafield and Dr. Andrea Hermosura who presented, “Implicit Racial Bias in Health Care and Hawai‘i.” This training held rich discussions on the impact of implicit racial biases, racism in Hawai‘i and the disparities among Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. We are excited to announce our final Hui trainings for 2020! Make sure to save-the-date and get started on your Moodle account so you can add these trainings to your course list soon.
