Hawaiʻi Island HEAL works in tandem with all of our Hawaiʻi Island coalitions to cultivate a healthier Hawaiʻi Island community. We believe in lifting up community members to achieve positive health outcomes and we do it by collaborating with partners across a wide range of sectors and Hawaiʻi Island districts.
Hawaiʻi Island coalition coordinators work to advance local level policies aimed to increase access to healthy foods and active transportation and supports statewide policies focused on healthy eating and active living through the Obesity Prevention Task Force.

Key Projects
- Providing technical support for Hawaiʻi Island Food Alliance
- Serving as a resource for healthy food drive events via logistics assistance, identify needs and barriers in the breastfeeding and lactation community
- Engaging our Hawaiʻi Island community in public/private partnerships to increase active living and safe multi-modal transportation options
- Supporting programs for healthy food access and physical activity in rural and urban businesses and communities.

Kealoha joined HIPHI in March 2023 as the West Hawai‘i Tobacco and HEAL Coalition Coordinator. Before joining HIPHI, Kealoha was engaged in tobacco education, coalition, and policy work with Tobacco-Free Hawai‘i Island for three years. She worked as a certified tobacco treatment specialist, where she helped her community quit their tobacco use and encourage healthier lifestyles and helped organize the youth coalition on Hawai‘i Island, the Hawai‘i Island Youth Academy.
Kealoha was born and raised in Hakipu‘u, O‘ahu, and moved to Hawai‘i Island in 2003, currently residing in the beautiful town of Waimea. During her free time, Kealoha enjoys planting succulents, being outdoors, going to the beach, and spending time with family.
