Meet Dana, HIPHI's new Project Manager for Healthy Food Access in Early Childhood Education, Networking, and Engagement

(she/hers) Dana joined HIPHI in 2022 as the Project Manager for Healthy Food Access in Early Childhood Education, Networking, and Engagement under the 2103 Health Equity grant. She has an undergraduate degree in Speech from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa where she is currently a candidate for an MEd in Early Childhood Education. Dana’s passion for creating access to equitable opportunities for children, families, and communities is rooted in over 30 years of work experience in various early childhood education settings within Hawaii’s mixed delivery system.

In her free time, Dana enjoys learning about the medicinal use for plants, playing trivia and word games, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Meet Risa, HIPHI's new PHAP Fellow

(she/her) Risa Goto, joined HIPHI as a Public Health Associate for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She graduated with a B.S in Anthropology and Global Health from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to HIPHI, Risa worked at the CDC Honolulu Quarantine Station at the Daniel. Inouye International airport, which focused on preventing infectious diseases of public health concern from entering our jurisdiction. As her career interests lay in both Epidemiology and Community health sciences, Risa is very excited to engage in the latter with HIPHI. For the Astrology enthusiasts, she is a Cancer sun, Gemini moon, and Libra rising.
