We are awaiting the 2024 Legislative Session with excitement. The legislative session is a time…
The Hawaiʻi Youth Food Council (HYFC) is thrilled to announce we will be hosting the 9th Annual We Grow Hawaiʻi: A Youth Food Summit in February 2024!
The upcoming summit will be held over two days – February 16 & 17. You can click HERE to register for one of the days or both.
These events are open to students and educators from Hawaiʻi schools (K-12) with opportunities for students to present and learn about how we can all envision and advocate for school food that’s good for students and supports local producers.
Please join us at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol on Friday, February 16 to advocate for Farm to School and Hawaiʻi’s Food Systems! Day 1 is focused on youth policy and advocacy, we invite high school and college youth with their adult mentors or allies to register.
The fun will continue on Saturday, February 17 on the Punahou School Campus! Designed as a conference-style event with both youth and adults leading sessions, We Grow is open to attendees of all ages, students, educators, school administrators, non-profit organizations, and interested community members.
HYFC Member Sabina Funasaki has this to share about our 2023 summit: “This is my first year in the Hawai’i Youth Food Council and I am so excited for the We Grow Summit! I believe working with other students from around the state about our food system creates meaningful change. Not only hearing from youth presenters but hearing from state leaders is such a cool opportunity! I hope to see you there!”
If you are interested in learning more about how you can get involved in either or both days of the event, please contact us at HYFC@hiphi.org.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to coming together for an inspiring and educational We Grow Hawaiʻi Youth Food Summit in 2024. 🤝🌿
