Introducing the 2026 Hawai‘i Community Health Worker Association Leadership Council

The Hawai‘i Community Health Worker Association (HICHWA) is proud to announce its 2026 Leadership Council, welcoming both new and returning Community Health Workers (CHWs) to guide the organization’s work in the year ahead. 

Cyd Hoffeld, previous Vice Chair, steps into the role of Chair and remains committed to strengthening and uplifting the crucial work of CHWs across Hawai‘i. Gracie Flores will continue her service as Outgoing Chair, providing ongoing leadership and support. 

The 2026 Leadership Council also introduces: 

  • David Mamae, previous Oʻahu Island Representative, now serving as Vice Chair. 
  • Ola Ropa, previous Lāna‘i Island Representative, now serving as Treasurer. 
  • Crystal Caday-Bargayo, previous Kaua‘i Island Representative, now serving as Secretary.

In addition to the Leadership Council above, HICHWA also welcomes a mix of new and returning CHWs to serve as Island Representatives, ensuring representation and connection across the state 

The Leadership Council will continue advancing workforce development, advocacy, sustainability, and support opportunities for CHWs statewide. If you are interested in getting involved, you are encouraged to join a committee, participate in monthly CHW Only Meetings, and attend the 2026 HICHWA Conference in August.
