Formed in 2013, the Maui Coalition for Drug-Free Youth is a local community coalition of partner organizations and individuals committed to reducing underage alcohol use and youth substance use in Maui County. The Coalition envisions a unified and thriving community where people are living resilient, healthy and drug-free lives.

Key Projects
[he/him] Rick joined HIPHI in 2018 and currently serves as the Director for for the Maui Coalition for Drug-Free Youth, the East Hawai‘i Drug-Free Coalition, and the Hawai‘i Alcohol Policy Alliance. His experience includes building new community coalitions and implementing community-level policy strategies to reduce the harms of substance use. He is a Certified Prevention Specialist and holds an MS in Counseling Psychology. He and his family love to travel and like to do home exchanges when they travel.
Ashlee came to HIPHI in 2018 with MCDFY, a local community coalition of partner organizations and individuals committed to reducing underage alcohol use and youth substance use in Maui County. She has over 10 years of experience in social work, public health, community organizing, prevention work, coalition building, and youth engagement, and received her master’s in Social Work from Portland State University. Ashlee is a community-driven individual who works on community prevention through policy change.
