Established in 2016, the Maui Nui Youth Council is a unique service organization that engages youth in creating positive community change. Youth develop communication and advocacy skills, establish healthy peer relationships, and learn to work with adults to solve community problems. The Youth Council is comprised of high school age members and meets bi-weekly. Activities are often youth-led and youth-driven and include opportunities for service hours, mentorship, and real world experience. Some recent accomplishments of the Maui Nui Youth Council was support to pass the Smoke Free Cars Maui County and the Maui Social Host Ordinance.
