During COVID-19, the oral health community stepped up, with many answering calls for donations of PPE, and volunteering during the crisis. The Hawaiʻi Oral Health Coalition was no exception, with members choosing to care for vulnerable keiki during a time when dental office visits were limited, and providing information on how to seek care and stay safe.

Donations from Aloha Medical Mission, Hawaiʻi Department of Health, Kalihi Palama Health Center and Colgate were collected, and kits containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and care instructions were delivered to eight sites doing grab and go meals on Oʻahu and one on Maui. Mahalo to our partners for pulling together during this time and giving keiki another reason to smile!

Keiki oral hygiene kits were assembled by volunteers using donated items.
