Partner Spotlight: Bridging Farms to Families with Maui Hub

When you think about building a resilient local food system, growing the food is only half the battle. The other half? Getting fresh, locally grown produce from a field in Kula or Hāna onto the tables of families across our islands.

That’s where Maui Hub comes in.

As a nonprofit food hub and online farmers market, Maui Hub acts as the bridge between local producers and local buyers. By handling the heavy lifting — online ordering, packing, and island-wide delivery logistics — the Hub frees Maui’s farmers to focus on what they do best: growing great food.

Dignity, Access, and Wildfire Recovery

Maui Hub isn’t just making local food convenient, they’re making it accessible. Through partnerships like DA BUX, SNAP/EBT acceptance, and free home delivery for SNAP customers, they help ensure that fresh, healthy food isn’t a luxury.

One of their proudest recent milestones is Nourish Maui, a referral-based program created in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund. Launched to support Lāhainā wildfire survivors, Nourish Maui gives impacted families market credits to select the foods their households need, while directing recovery dollars back into local farms and food businesses.

A farmer can focus on growing food while our team handles customer ordering, packing, and distribution logistics. At the same time, a family using SNAP or food-support credits can shop with dignity and have fresh food delivered right to their home. — Taylor Morrow, General Manager of Maui Hub.

Why We’re Better Together

As a member of the Maui Nui Food Alliance, Maui Hub’s hands-on distribution work feeds directly into our shared vision for regional food security. No single group can solve island-wide food challenges alone. By working collectively through the Alliance, we share vital information, reduce duplicated efforts, advocate for needed infrastructure, and make sure resources reach the growers and families who need them most.

How You Can Support Maui Hub This Month

  • Shop the online market. The simplest way to help is by buying your groceries through mauihub.org. Every order helps build a stable, dependable market for local farmers. You can also follow them on Instagram for weekly updates.
  • Advocate for policies that enhance infrastructure. Speak up in support of funding for local agriculture, investment in regional food hubs, and expanded cold-storage capacity. Policy support ensures organizations like Maui Hub have the public backing and capital they need to grow.
  • Donate to fund daily operations. Behind-the-scenes needs — like delivery truck maintenance, commercial refrigeration, eco-friendly packaging, and tech upgrades — require ongoing capital. Consider making a tax-deductible donation on their website.

The Maui Nui Food Alliance is proud to partner with Maui Hub in our shared effort to foster a resilient, healthy food future for Maui County. For more information about the Alliance or how to get involved, contact Alliance Coordinator Breon Michel at breon@hiphi.org.
