Hawai‘i Public Health Institute (HIPHI) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that supports and promotes policy efforts to create a healthy Hawai‘i. Elected officials have a pivotal role in shaping the policies that influence policy in Hawai‘i, and we feel that it is important to know where candidates stand on public health issues facing our community.
Through this candidate survey, we aim to help the public learn more about candidates’ positions on public health issues. The survey was emailed to every candidate running for state and local office in 2024. The survey consists of questions on tobacco and alcohol, kūpuna care, access to healthy foods, active living, oral health, and more. HIPHI does not support or oppose any candidate for elected office, and this survey is for informational purposes only.
