RESPONDING TO PPE NEEDS
IDENTIFYING PPE GAPS
With a worldwide shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the community rallied together to provide face masks to healthcare and frontline workers. However, another group of essential workers, such as those providing social services, had a critical need for PPE that was unmet.
Working with government and community partners, as well as generous donations, HIPHI distributed over 1,000 cloth face masks and nearly 20,000 surgical face masks since March 2020.
In addition, HIPHI helped to coordinate the creation of Community PPE Hubs on the neighbor islands with the Department of Health’s Behavioral Health & Homelessness Statewide Unified Response Group.
