In July, the National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) hosted its annual meeting and conference virtually. It was a phenomenal virtual event with over:
800+ registrants
30+ workshop and roundtable presentations
70+ speakers and co-presenters
200+ virtual networking participants

In partnership with the Hawai‘i State Department of Health, HIPHI provided scholarships for four CHWs to attend the two-day event. The four CHWs represent Oʻahu and Molokai and are equipped to take this knowledge to better serve their communities. We are extremely fortunate that one of Hawaii’s own beloved and honorable CHW, Auntie Jessanie Marques, Executive Director of Kaʻū Rural Health Community Association Inc was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award by NACHW! Congratulations to Auntie Jessie for her continued support and care to the Kaʻū community.

Save the Date! CHWs and allies have been coordinating the 2021 Hawaiʻi Community Health Worker Summit to be hosted virtually on Friday, November 19, 2021. This half-day event will bring our statewide network together to share highlights, unify our voices and build momentum on the Hawaiʻi CHW Association. Registration will be through the Hawai‘i CHW Association website at More details including registration information and agenda will be announced soon.
