Paige-Ka‘ohu Kawakami

[she/her] Paige joined HIPHI in April 2024 as the Policy & Advocacy Associate. In this role, she will support HIPHI in policy and grassroots advocacy through the development and advancement of policies that address needs related to all areas of public health and by building and maintaining strong relationships with community members and organizations across the pae ʻāina. Paige earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Religion with an emphasis on indigenous beliefs and practices in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. She has also organized around the protection of natural resources and abolition and was previously a Hawaiian Studies kumu at Windward Community College. Paige is from Pālolo and loves being a full-time aunty, swimming, surfing, and sailing open ocean.
