Susan joined HIPHI in 2020 to provide leadership and strategic direction to food systems projects, focusing on equity and resiliency. She supports policy and program development related to food and nutrition security and guides work on epidemiology and public health practice for transformation of food systems. A doctor of medicine with a master’s in public health, Susan has more than 20 years of experience in public health, including 15 years at the World Health Organization. She discovered her green thumb in the second half of life. She also loves to swim and feels blessed when swimming with honu.
