Summer 2023 Updates on Internship and AmeriCorps VISTAs
Our staff would like to acknowledge the AmeriCorps VISTAs and interns for their hard work and contributions to HIPHI and Hawai’i’s public health sector. HIPHI received 53 internship applications between January and June 2023 and mentored 11 interns/volunteers this spring and six interns this summer. We also welcomed four AmeriCorps VISTA members who are serving at HIPHI, Aloha Harvest, and Project Vision Hawai‘i. In addition, we have two candidates completing the application process and hope to start in July with Hawai‘i Children’s Action Network and Hawai‘i State Department of Health – Kaua‘i District Health Office.
AmeriCorps VISTA Updates
AmeriCorps VISTA is a national community service program that aims to eliminate poverty – a condition that influences our health. VISTAs serve for one year on a full-time basis, working on different types of projects. To learn more about the VISTA program and service opportunities, visit our informational page. As of June 2023, all VISTA positions have been filled or will be filled. Please come back for updates on new or vacant VISTA positions.
Public Health Internship Updates
HIPHI offers also offers public health internship opportunities. Most interns are students or recent graduates who want to learn and practice their public health skills. We also work with volunteers who want to help us complete projects. Learn more about our internship program by visiting our informational page. We accept applications on a rolling basis.
