Voices of Our Future: Youth Advocacy Training on Kaua‘i
Tobacco-Free Kaua‘i (TFK) and Ho‘okele Coalition are partnering to host a Youth Advocacy Training in the new year. This is an opportunity for young people to build confidence, strengthen their civic voice, and help shape a healthier future for Kaua‘i. Open to participants ages 12 and older, this training will equip youth with practical advocacy skills they can apply at both the county and state levels.
Presenters Valerie Saiki (TFK) and Tamara Lawrence ( Ho‘okele Coalition) will guide participants through navigating the Capitol website, crafting and submitting testimony, and engaging in discussions about potential tobacco and alcohol legislation for the 2026 session. The training will conclude with a Q&A discussion featuring Kaua‘i community leaders.
Date: Monday, January 5, 2026
Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
