Calling Attention to Big Tobacco’s Tactics: We See/They See Campaign

Earlier this year, Hawai‘i Public Health Institute and the Hawai‘i State Department of Health partnered to launch the “Stronger Together: We See/They See” Campaign to highlight the tactics Big Tobacco uses to target our keiki.

While we see curiosity, creativity, and ambition in our keiki, Big Tobacco sees one thing: customers. The tobacco industry spends $24 million each year in marketing to protect their profit and use sweet, candy-flavors in tobacco to hook our keiki onto nicotine. But Hawai‘i residents have stood up to Big Tobacco before, passing strong smoke-free air laws and becoming the first state in the nation to raise the age to purchase tobacco products to 21.

Visit StrongerTogether.Hawaii.gov to learn more about the campaign and stay informed. Together, we are stronger than Big Tobacco.
