Making Sense of Vaccination Schedules: The Who, What, and Why of Pediatric Vaccines

March 19 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Free

This presentation will compare the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended vaccination schedule to the one that was released by the current Trump administration. Learners will understand which vaccines were removed, the diseases those vaccines were intended to treat, and the potential public health impact of the change.

Objectives:

1. To compare the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Trump Administration’s pediatric vaccination schedule

2. To review the diseases that the removed vaccines are intended to prevent

3. To assess the potential public health impact of lower vaccination rates

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Hawaii Public Health Institute and the Western Region Public Health Training Center (WRPHTC). The WRPHTC is jointed accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continued Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
