The “Palliative Care Primer for Allied Healthcare Workers” non-instructor
course is approximately 4 hours long.
Learning Objectives:
1. Describe Palliative Care (PC) and how it compares with usual disease-modifying care and hospice care
2. Explain who may benefit from PC and how it can benefit them
3. Understand the role of allied healthcare workers, including community health workers (CHWs), emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and other members of the PC team
4. Describe communication strategies among interdisciplinary team members.
