And they’re off! Ten teams are on their way to making their workplaces healthier and happier through some healthy competition! Get Fit Kauaʻi just launched their semi-annual nine month Worksite Wellness (WSW) on Friday, February 21, 2020, a competition designed to encourage businesses and their employees to implement healthy practices in the workplace and create sustainable wellness policies and environmental changes that focus on nutritional and physical activity improvements.
Each participating team completed a survey consisting of 61 “Yes” or “No” questions. Teams complete scorecards at the beginning and again at the end of the WSW Challenge. Each team’s scorecard is totaled at the end of the challenge and will be compared to their scorecard total at the beginning; the point and percentage difference between the two scores will be that team’s final WSW Challenge score.
Participating companies have from February to October (nine months) to raise their final score by changing as many answers as possible from “No” to “Yes”!
Points are based upon:
- Policy = 4 points.
- Environment = 3 points.
- Guideline = 2.
- Program = 2 points.
- Small = 1 point.
Congratulations and good luck to the following teams (10) who are taking part in Get Fit Kauai’s 2020 WSW Challenge and taking positive steps for creating healthier work environments for their employees!
